- The project involves street rehabilitation on Excelsior Drive, Front Street, and Foster Road. Key work items include cold milling existing asphalt concrete pavement, AC removals and reconstructions, Asphalt-Rubber Hot Mix (ARHM) overlays, and AC base overlays. The project also requires adjusting utilities to grade, installing new signing and striping, and implementing comprehensive traffic control. Specific concrete work includes the removal and replacement of cross gutters, spandrels, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and ADA curb ramps. Additional tasks involve localized AC pavement repair, sawcutting and reconstructing PCC sidewalks, removing and reconstructing concrete curb and gutter, and constructing/reconstructing modified curb ramps. Traffic signal infrastructure will be addressed through the removal and restoration of traffic loop detectors. Pavement markings, such as blue reflective raised pavement markers, red curb painting, double-yellow centerlines, two-way yellow left turn lanes, channelizing/turn pocket striping, solid lane striping, bike lane striping, continental crosswalk striping, stop legends, and limit lines, will be installed. Other items include furnishing and installing rubber wheel stops, channelizers, and queen posts for SCE poles. Micro-grinding and edge grinding of AC pavement, crack filling, and skin patching are also part of the scope. Tree removal up to 36-inch diameter is specified. The contractor must manage waste, control water pollution, and adhere to strict construction schedules and traffic management plans.
